ETFuels awarded UK government grant to develop methanol-to-jet facility

ETFuels' e-SAF project SkyFuel selected under UK Department's Advanced Fuels Fund to advance commercial-scale Methanol-to-Jet e-SAF project

ETFuels has been selected by the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom as one of the recipients of support under the latest round of the Advanced Fuels Fund (AFF) to advance SkyFuel Teesside – a next-generation sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) facility converting green hydrogen and biogenic CO₂ into jet fuel using methanol synthesis and Methanol-to-Jet (MtJ) technology.

SkyFuel Teesside will be one of the UK’s first and most scalable integrated e-SAF projects. The key to delivering cost-effective e-SAF at scale is the ability to access cheap, compliant, scalable feedstock. ETFuels’ behind-the-meter e-fuels production model gives us direct access to ultra-low-cost renewable power and hydrogen. We’re developing six e-methanol projects globally that together enable production of over 200,000 tonnes per year of e-SAF. Combined with our collaborations with leading UK players such as Johnson Matthey and Protium, we’re building one of the most credible e-SAF platforms in the market.
